Creating Community Conversations and Collaboration to Change the World

There is a new sheriff in town and a fresh force to be reckoned with on our planet. It’s more powerful than guns and bombs and the agendas of dictators governing the globe. Its influence reaches to the four corners of the earth and is changing lives, cultures, and industries more rapidly than anything man has ever created before in the history of the world. It motivates, manipulates, mediates, mobilizes the masses, and monitors morality, community, and ingenuity around the globe – yes, Social Media has changed everything forever.  

      All The World Is Now Connected 24/7 Through The International Information Infrastructure Called The Internet

As this force sweeps over the planet, it elevates specific businesses and makes others irrelevant. It assists in the removal of world rulers and transforms multiple industries faster than most companies can handle. Those who refuse to recognize it and adapt to the innovations that it introduces will be left standing at the pier, holding the bag with nothing in it, as others ride the waves of change to discover new horizons. This culture changing, global governing, world watchdog is the force of social media. Social media is shaping a new society driven by creativity, innovation, and human capital, that puts power back in the hands of the people.

 Social media is truly inspiring a social revolution throughout the world.

In 2011, it empowered uprisings sweeping throughout the Middle East and Africa that toppled governments in several countries, making us aware that a social shift was taking place, and that the world, as we used to know it, would never be the same again. From 2011 – 2014, we have seen Social Media generate new forms of social and political mobilization. From Arab Spring, Wikileaks, and Planned Parenthood, to Joseph Kony, ISIS, and the IRS, to the exposure of corruption in China, and domestic spying by the NSA, Social Media has become the worldwide watchdog that is working 24/7 to warn and wake up the world.

This worldwide revolutionary movement is being fueled by borderless conversations and collaborations that create change. Instigations and innovations are flowing from the frustrations of generations with the economy, unemployment, autocratic dictatorial rulers who have controlled them and their families for far too long, and so-called democratic governments that have overstepped their boundaries to limit freedom, rights, and privacy of the people.

Social discontent is not geographically limited to Africa and the Middle East, but has become global, and with good reason. During the past few years, Greece, Spain, Ireland and Italy have joined the club of counties that have become economic casualties, and the European Union, at times, has become dissatisfied, divided, and disillusioned with its state of affairs. Back in the USA, Congress and President Obama’s approval ratings are at an all time low, unemployment, under-employment, and health care continue to be issues, while banks keep increasing their credit card rates and creating new charges to feed their greed. Due to foreclosures, there are enough empty houses in the U.S. to contain the entire population of Britain, and small businesses are still struggling to survive. Distrust of Wall Street and Capital Hill is at an all time high, and many have lost hope and heart in the long recovery process.

           Together, We Can Create Community Conversations And Collaboration To Spread Love And Share Hope

In the midst of the global recession, we are seeing an increase of authenticity, spirituality, and entrepreneurship. There is a realization that there are enough compassionate hearts, brilliant minds and talented people to turn our countries around and move things in the right direction. We just need to connect them in community to create conversations, collaboration, and convergence to bring about positive change.  Daily development and application of new technologies is taking interactive media to new levels, and innovative startups are boldly taking us where no person has ever gone before, and with that, we can spread love and share hope. The bottom line challenge is that we must all work together to empower communities to generate conversations, collaboration, and convergence that creates positive change in our world. Once the people of the world get together, there is no limit to what they can build. We are the world, and we are one tribe. Old thought will not bring about new and better solutions. It’s time for our international revolutionary Re-think Tank to rebuild a better community for humanity.
